how to repair corrupted save file?

Hello possible helpers

while enjoying pokemon chronicles - superb game, takes me right back to my childhood so thanks to the creator for making - I encountered a problem I couldn't solve on my own. Any help or suggestions are appreciated!

Game says my save file is corrupted and I want to repair it but don't know how. That's the error I get:




Game still starts but shows me another error





after asking me if I want to start over and me choosing no it finally says the file is corrupted and closes





I'm running it on win10 and it worked perfectly up until now, I'm somewhere in the orange isles part....more info needed? which one?

I need some info from you, so i can tell what's the problem:

1- What is your version of chronicles?
2- Are you playing from the begining again or from the old save game?
Please answer this questions. I'm the creator so, i can provide support.

The script: pscreen_load error comes from screen options.

1. I use version 17.0, at least the setup says so and I had only that one

2. I only have the one save from the beginning, so it's the "old" save I guess...never had another one so I'm trying to repair it but didn't come far

The 2 first errors came from your old save game. Pokémon Chronicles had 2 versions where i said that players had to start all over because the main system had some huge upgrades. Projects that are still under development like this can have that kind of updates.

I play the game too, so i can test it myself and search for bugs or errors. At the moment i've not encountered any error.

But you can try to change your game compability with your Windows to see what happens with your old save game. Other way it's impossible for you to fix it yourself.

I can repair some errors when players send me the save game, but in this case i don't think i can repair it.

Anyway, sorry for that.

I think that if you start all over with v17.0, you will not get those old errors in your new game.

can't be helped then :/ I tried the compability mode but got the same error so I will try to get to the rxdata file next maybe I can simply overwrite the 0.0 part with the 4.something that is required but I have to get into that rpg program first so it might take a while until I understood how to use it if that doesnt work out either I guess starting new is the best option. but still the save game that has this errors is from version 17.0 also so that error might occur again....or it was just bad luck ;P anyway thanks for trying to help and good luck on the project - until now it's awesome

Until now, no one have problems with v17.0 and remember that some error don't came from the games, the pc players can also make errors like in any game. But, to be sure if you want me to check it, send me your save game through, game's email.
