I just downloaded Version 1.83 and my Windows Defender informed me the file contains HackTool:Win32/Keygen.

What is it for?

Don't worry about that, it's not a virus or malware.

I don't know if you check the rpg maker xp editor Instalation Instructions Word File, but inside of rpg maker xp editor folder, there is a key generator called: rmxpkegen.

It's a little program for you to use, to make rpg maker xp permanent without only having the trial days 30.

The game requires only the Rgss from this setup, not the rpg maker xp itself, but i give it to players, if they want the editor free of use. Its a hacktool generating keys yes, but it don't do anything to your computer, it even don't install anything.

You can delete the file if you want, the game don't need it, but the editor, if you want it permanent and with all its full capacity, you will need that generator key.

Antivirus programs will always detects this kind of little tools, even if they are armless/inofensive.
