Pokémon Chronicles Version 18.1

What's new in this version of Pokémon Chronicles v18.1:


1- New PC Storage Box Wallpapers:



Fixed / added new PC storage Box wallpapers in Pokemon Centers when you customize your storage boxes.
It's a total of 40 unique wallpapers.


2- New Apricorn Trees Graphics:



Changed the Apricorn Tree graphics and added an animation. In Johto region, all the berries and apricorn trees were updated with the corresponding graphics and animations to match better their nature. They can't be replanted and they give their fruits one time per day.


3- Improved Map Background Transitions:



Improved some map background transitions according to the time of the day. And fixed some related issues about this matter and added map background transitions in missing places.


4- Improved NPC Trainers:



Improved some overworld NPC trainers to match their "nature".
They are: Engineer, Medium, Burglar, Kanto Bird Keeper, Male PokéRanger. Updated their graphics in the Fame Checker System too.


5- New Trainers To Team Up:



Added more 5 Pokemon Trainer followers: Red, Green, Blue, Yellow and Richard, a character representing the game's creator.
This characters came from the manga series and to team up with them, you must catch a certain amount of Pokemon and bring a special Pokemon with you, so they can join you on your journey. Also, after doing an errand for the game's creator Richard, the players can team up with him, after beating him in a battle. But be careful, he is very very strong. They have stronger Pokemon around lv50+. You can find them in Celadon City's Game Creator's Mansion.


6- Pokemon Amie New Food List:



Updated Pokemon Amie Food List:

Fresh water, soda pop, lemonade, moomoo milk, energy powder, energy root, heal powder, revival herb, lumiose galette, big malasada and shalour sable.

Deleted Leppa Berry from the Food list, because of its function, Leppa Berry isn't compatible with this kind of systems.

How to feed my Pokemon?

1- Open the Pokemon Amie system through your Pokenav or talk to your following Pokemon,
2- Click on the food botton on your upper-left on the screen,
3- Left mouse button on the item to feed, press it around 1 second,
4- Drag it on top of your Pokemon image, so it can eat the food.

Note: If you select an item and failed to drag the item to feed your Pokemon, you must select it again from the list. You don't lose the item this way.

How do I pet my Pokemon?

1- Left mouse button on your Pokemon and shake it up and down to pet it.

Note: You can switch your Pokemon in this system by pressing the bottom at your lower-right icon on your screen.


7- Poketch Released:



In this game Poketch has 21 apps. The way you use this system is very similar from Pokemon Diamond and pearl games. To access it, you must use a key item called Poketch, then select what app you want to use. The apps will all be given after you defeated the Pokemon Master Richard.

Apps list:

Coin Flip, itemfinder, clock, clicker, calculator, pedometer, move tester, rotom, matchup checker, party, color changer, kitchen timer, analog watcher, stat display, roulette, day care checker, calendar, stop watch, notepad, alarm clock, safari helper.

Note: This system has support to your mouse buttons. It was made by Marin.
I decided to give all the apps at the same event / time, because, the game has already lots of stuff and events for players in all places and the Poketch system apps are not all that "important", in my opinion, they only gives you little support. So, i decided to give them all after beating the game's creator in battle, which it will be very difficult.


8- Pokeradar Released Part 1:




Added the Pokeradar system to the game.

To obtain this key item, the players must defeat the Pokemon Master Richard in battle.
To recharge its battery, the players must walk 50 steps for each use / time. Its similar to the VS Seeker recharge system.

When using the Pokeradar, in grassy areas only, a special encounter appears in the grass, you will see an animation on the grass tile, alerting you that the pokeradar founded a special encounter.

Also, when you use it, it can:

1- Fail to detect a special encounter,
2- Normal encounters from the map's list encounters only,
3- Shiny encounters, which is very rare,
4- Special encounters that don't came from the map's list of encounters and it's rare.

All encounters in this "modes" are random from a special programmed list, the normal encounters will be through the map's encounters list only.

Note: In line 4, the players will only encounter special Pokemon that they can't capture in this game. Like Pokemon from Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos and Alola regions.
Only a few "new" Pokemon can be capture through this system now until we add more encounters in the other maps too, we must decide where wich ones will be and etc, so this will take us time to finished the system, so the players can have the right to obtain them in the wild, instead of events.

The only maps that have this special encounters, for now are: Route 1, Treasure Beach, Route 29, Route 101.

Important Note: This is only the part 1. The Pokeradar system only misses the special encounters list that we are still under developping, the rest of the system is ready to use by the players. So, be patient until we add the rest of the encounters into this system. This is an early access.


9- Remaked the Game's Creator Mansion Maps Part 1:




Remaked the Game's Creator Mansion Maps, so they can look the same as the game freak's mansion.
The older system of giving the players the "new content" from other regions, didn't work well as i planed, lots of players don't understand well the concept by the old system. So, I simplefy all of it.

How to use this new NPCs that have the "new content" from other Pokemon gens?

Play the minigame Type Quiz to earn Bottle Caps to exchange them for Gold Bottle Caps. Exchange 2 Bottle Cap for 1 Gold Bottle Cap. This "currency" is only required to exchange for Pokemon from: Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos and Alola regions at your choice, a list will appears for you to choose wich one you want.

The rest of the "prizes" NPCs will use the in game methods like: exchange money to buy TMs, radio points to special Pokeballs, coins for evo items and mega evo items and etc.
This NPCs will let you use them after some demand, after that you can buy the items from their lists, so, this way, the players can choose the items that they want to buy, instead of random from the old system.

Note: We are still develloping this too and it will take time, i guess that i will not have time to finish them all in this update in time, so the rest will be delayed in futher updates.


10- Game's Creator Events Part 1:




Added a character that represents the Pokemon Chronicles creator. He will be on the last floor of the Game's Creator Mansion.
Like in the game freak's mansion, the player can obtain a Pokemon from a small desk. This Pokemon is loved for many fans and it has "3 evos". For me, its very similar to Eevee. But this one is very tricky, you can have the "normal" form or the "special" form, this "forms" will be random, but the Pokemon will always be the same, this event don't give you random Pokemon.

When you talked to Richard (the Pokemon Chronicles creator character in the game), He will ask the players to search for his lost book: The Mysteries Of The Earth. This key item can be anywhere, in forests, caves, routes, cities and etc, the item only will be in outdoor maps and you must use the itemfinder to search for it, and don't ask me where is the right location, i will not tell you where i put it.  After you deliver it to Richard, he will battle you and if you defeat him, he will give you the Poketch and the Pokeradar and you can party with him on your adventure.

After this part 1, this event will display special fixed events.

What that means?

For each month, the game's creator character, will requests you to do some things to participate in this events when you talk to him, there will be 1 event for each month:

January = New years event,
February = Valentine's event,
March = Spring event,
April = Easter event,
May = Carnival event,
Jun = Summer event,
July = Children's day event,
August = Autumn event,
September = Winter event,
October = Halloween event,
November = Saint's day event,
December = Christmas event.

This events will loop when the system detects a specific month and it will change the event automatically.

Here is an example: Its February, Valentine's day, Collect Heart Scales in exchange of Sweet Hearts. Then use this Sweet Hearts to exchange for event items or use them to heal your Pokemon, its your choice.

This events will take me time to make them, so, in the months that haven't this events yet, the npc will not interact with you.

Don't worry, this will be completed in the next updates, next year. In the moment i'm only one working on the project again without the help of a team, so this will take me time to complete.



11- New Gender Selection Screen:


Added a new gender selection screen. Now players can choose to be one of this heroes:

Red, Brendan, Ash (kanto clothes), Jimmy.
Green, May, Misty, Ash (Hoenn clothes).

Due to lack of graphics and resorces, there is only 3 girls instead of 4, sorry. XD

Added graphics for this system and:

Avatars for all the characters,
Ending game credits graphics accordingly with each character,
Front and back battle sprites for each character,
Map icons for each character,
Overworld sprites:
Walking, Running, Cycling, Macro Bike, Acro Bike, Fishing, Surfing, Diving, Surfing with fishing sprites for each character.

Note: Added around 100 sprites in total. Pokemon Chronicles is the only one that gives you 8 unique characters for you to choose. There is more fan games that has the same system but, they only recolored the heroe Red, for example. And the overworld sprites are all the same.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Misty overworld sprites will be incompleted for now. I didn't have time to finish it and i've got sick, so, you can play as Misty but the sprites will be the fired red girl. Only Misty overworld sprites: walking, diving, icon map, battle sprites are done. If you use it and when i make another update, it wont crash your game. You can continuing playing normally, because only the sprites will be updated.

Pokemon Chronicles fan game is improving a lot since its creation. And its pratically the only one well done on the internet that gives you more than, more or less, 100 hours of gameplay, if you are on the rush, because it takes more than that. And many systems and support for the players inside the game itself. I'm very proud of myself doing a project like this one, all by myself with very little support. This project celebrates more than 7 years of developping. Enjoy this masterpiece. ^^


0- Other Things:

Fixed / Added - System that forbids players to catch some event Pokemon, for example: Entei from the Movie 3 Events - The Spell of the Unown, Lavender Town Marowak Ghost.
Fixed - Cerulean Cave maps background music.
Fixed - Event weather from all events.
Fixed - Event with the second Mewtwo in New Mauville, where it is supposed to use the Mega Stone Y in battle.
Fixed - And updated all the move deleter's events that are causing errors.
Fixed / Updated - Day Care Variables and errors. When players go to PokeCenters, the game's crash because of the buged breeded Pokemon deposited in the PC storage.
Fixed - Graphics in general.
Added - Weather conditions sounds in the outside maps. Rain, Heavy Rain, Storm, Snow, Snowstorm, Sandstorm, Suny and Lightning sounds. The game has 7 weather conditions in total.
Added - Pokemon trainer battle back graphics for Red and one for representing the game's creator.
Development - Preparing the system to receive the PokéRadar special encounters.
Development -Preparing the system to receive the Game's Creator Events.
And other improved things / repair bugs and errors.

Downloaded all the game parts and now what?


1- Place all parts in the same directory / folder / location.
2- Right click on part 1 and then extract it to from the game's exe.
3- With the game's exe. You can delete the winrar parts. Because you've got what you want, the game's exe.
4- Install the game normally and check the Word files for more information about the game installation.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The players can continue with their save games from the version 18.

Note: Remember, this project is still under development.
This is a PC fangame not a hack rom.
To download the game, people must be registered in this forum.
The game provides players with Word files with instructions about installation and other usefull things.
Please read carefuly when instaling the game.

How to install the game and Updates?

1- To install the game, simply copy and paste the game's folder on your PC. But, never paste it on the folder "My PC".

2- To update to a new game's version, delete your old game's folder and paste this one in the same location.

3- Just play the game and have fun.

Note: Your save game will go automatically to another location, so it's fine doing this and you will not lose your saved game.
